Plate depicting a story of harvest, where the farmer plants maize, the plants begin to grow only to then be destroyed by a heavy storm, losing everything. The farmer starts this process again, and we can see the end result in the back of the plate, where three different coloured corn plants are being depicted. These are common to different regions of Central and South America, which contribute to an essential part of any Latin American person.
This plate is part of a 2 piece series, where the same scene is depicted in a bowl, you can find the Ciclo de la cosecha bowl in the shop as well.
Hand built with stoneware and hand-decorated with inlay and coloured slips.
